Robbery during raid : Police officials put on notice

The court has issued notices to the police officials directing them to submit their reply today

RAWALPINDI: A local court has put an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and at least two constables for allegedly torturing women and stealing property from a house during a raid. Noreen Bibi told Additional District and Sessions Judge Khurram Ali Khan that ASI Tahir Rehan and constables Waqas and Kamran, and other officials of Lohi Bher Police Station raided her one night almost three months ago and tortured her two daughters and a son. She claimed that the police officials also took Rs100,000 in cash, jewellery, a vehicle as well as property documents with them. Petitioner’s counsel Qazi Hafeezur Rehman advocate requested the court to direct police to register a case against the officials. The court has issued notices to the police officials directing them to submit their reply today (Tuesday). Police had claimed that they raided the house to arrest the robbers and recover stolen property.
