BANNU: In a bid to force the provincial government to accept their demands, the elected nazims and  naib nazims will go on hunger strike in Bannu on Monday (today). The elected representatives demand rights and privileges in accordance with the Local Government Act 2013. The decision was taken in a meeting of Nazim Ittehad representatives in Bannu city on Sunday. Nazim Ittehad General Secretary Muhammad Islam Khan and finance secretary Maulana Tahir Meer said they made many efforts to resolve the issue through political means but the government was reluctant to address their grievances. On the occasion, Muhammad Islam threatened the government to honour its commitments and fulfil demands made by the LG representatives, saying they would otherwise be compelled to protest in Bani Gala, Islamabad.
