ISLAMABAD:
The government has taken different initiatives to address the issue of malnutrition among vulnerable segments, including women and children. According to health experts, Pakistan is currently facing a silent crisis of malnutrition that has not improved for decades. World Food Programme (WFP) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide a grant of $422.78 million to Pakistan to supplement efforts to improve food and nutrition security and enhance capacity of institutions. The Punjab government also launched a Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) programme to address the issue of malnutrition.
