Be it the child labour issue, gender discrimination, early marriages, or health-related problems, the United Nation's (UN) ongoing exhibition at Sadequain gallery managed to portray the works it has done in the country in the past 70 years.
The walls of the gallery were decorated with various sets of pictures, reflecting the major problems facing Pakisanis today. The photo exhibition, 'Pakistani People and United Nations (UN) - Human Stories through Pictures,' is being held at the Sadequain Gallery at Frere Hall till February 3.

Talking to The Express Tribune, UN information centre director Vittorio Cammarota said that the paintings that were displayed at the exhibition represent what the UN has done so far in Pakistan. He assured that the UN, along with the Government of Pakistan, is keen to achieve its targets.
Cammarota added that these photos, collected from their archives, portray everything honestly. The exhibition describes how the people of Pakistan and the UN are connected to spread words of peace around the globe, he said. The UN and Pakistan must have to stand firm to fight against all the evils, he added.
The UN is one of the few institutions working sincerely in Pakistan, said a visitor at the exhibition, adding that that these pictures are a proof of their services.
Swiss Consul-General Emil Wyss said that Pakistan is a major contributor in the peace-keeping missions of the UN. The pictures displayed at the exhibition describe the colourful culture and rich history of Pakistan, he said.
Karachi Metropolitan Corporation municipal commissioner Sami Siddiqui appreciated the efforts of the UN and said that the exhibition shows how much the UN has served Pakistan. This exhibition truly portrays the summary of Pak-UN relations through the years, he said, adding that it shows the beauty of Pakistan and how it has evolved with time.
Talking to media at the exhibition on Wednesday, Cammarota condemned the attack on Bacha Khan University in Charsadda earlier the same day. He said that terrorists have once again targeted innocent students, which is a matter of great concern.
