The Bajirao Mastani actor, who is set to make her Hollywood debut with the third installment of the XXX franchise, The Return of Xander Cage, said she is "excited" and "nervous" at the same time to explore new horizons. "I am very excited. But I want to confess that I am very nervous," she told PTI, reports NDTV.
The 30-year-old Bollywood beauty further shared that her "ethnic background" has helped her land a pivotal role alongside Vin Diesel and she hopes to do justice with it. "Most importantly, I feel proud to be a part of a film where I get to show my ethnicity," said Deepika.

"The reason they are roping me is because of my background. I really hope that I do well in the movie and people go and watch it," she added.

Earlier, the director DJ Caruso took to Twitter to announce that Deepika will commence the shoot of the upcoming action-thriller, also starring Samuel L Jackson, in February.

Deepika to share screen space with Nina Dobrev, Ruby Rose in XXX
Reports were also making rounds that Deepika will be sharing screen space with Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev and Orange Is the New Black actor Ruby Rose, reported India Today.
The ace actor, who has taken 2015 by storm with her box-office hits Piku, Tamasha and Bajirao Mastani, further said that her success has been the result of constant efforts to improve her acting prowess with time.

"I work to compete with myself and keep setting the benchmark for myself, to become better. After a successful 2014, I hoped I can do better and then it happened in 2015. It is my constant desire to keep improving," she said.
