How to enjoy the best of the city in three days

Anushee and Ayla Hashwani are quick to drop their bags off at the hotel and guide us on how to enjoy the best of the city in three days

DAY 1: Hit the beaches

Kite Beach:

Located off Jumeirah road, the beach offers a wide variety of activities ranging from kite surfing, soap football and kayaking along with great views of the Burj Al Arab. For food, there are many options with food stalls dotted along the white sand.

Recommendation:

Salt: It’s a personal favourite and was voted one of the best burger joints in Dubai. Salt serves up the perfect Wagyu beef burgers and cheese fries. After your first visit we’re sure you too will convert into a Salter!

Cove Beach:

The beach is located on Jumeirah Beach and is the perfect place to unwind.

Guide to a day at Cove Beach

12pm:

Book a sun bed or a cabana around noon

1pm:

Order a platter of fruits and beverages to keep hydrated while soaking up the Arabian Sun

2pm:

Move indoors for a light lunch: Quinoa salad / sautéed prawns with homemade guacamole / Burrata with Datterino tomatoes.

4pm:

Get back onto the beach bed to relax under the sun while listening to the ocean waves and the sound of deep lounge music played by the live DJ.

5pm:

Go for a quick dip in the water to cool off or take a spin in the water on a rented jet ski.

6pm:

The Sea Lounge at Cove Beach provides comfy sofa lounges with breathtaking views of the Burj at sunset. If your in the mood for a munch we recommend the mini beef sliders or the cove club sandwich. Don’t forget to try the ‘Cove Special’ shisha while you are there.

DAY 2: Adrenaline intake day

Skydive Dubai:

To make-up for the beach-bum mode suggested a day earlier, kick-start your day by heading over to Skydive Dubai and soar like a bird as you jump off a plane at an altitude of almost 4,000 meters. The free-fall lasts for a minute, with the leisurely descent lasting for five minutes as you swoop over the beautiful Palm Jumeirah.

Desert safari:

After lunch, you can head to the afternoon Dubai desert safari. The tour includes dune bashing, quad biking and sand skiing along the way. As the drive continues, the tour stops to watch the beautiful sunset before hitting the campsite. The beautifully lit up campsite has a bbq buffet dinner, belly dancing and henna painting.

40 Kong:

Head over to relax at 40 Kong, an outdoor bar/lounge located on the 40th floor of the H Hotel to enjoy stunning views of Dubai. Sit back and relax as you sip on delicious cocktails and munch on spectacular bar food. With an in house DJ spinning chilled tracks throughout the night, it is the perfect place for friends and family to enjoy a casual scene.

Must try:

The Kokomo Smash, Kong Lobster Crostini and Wagyu mini burgers. Do make a booking pre-hand as this popular spot gets busy every night of the week.

DAY 3: Visit the chic side

Nus-ret:

Istanbul based steakhouse, Nusr-et opened doors in Dubai back in 2015. Located at the Four Seasons in Jumierah, the restaurant offers mouth-watering meats in a home like atmosphere with spectacular service. Do not leave the restaurant without trying the divine baklava desert.

Tashas:

This is everybody’s go-to breakfast joint in Dubai, with a retro vintage, deli-like kind of vibe. Tasha’s boasts a fabulous 87 dish all-day menu including eggs, flatbreads, quiche, salads and meats. We recommend the Monaco (poached eggs) and Parmesan and couscous-crusted chicken.

Downtown Dubai:

The Boulevard in downtown Dubai is buzzing every evening as youngsters catch up with their friends over shisha and food along the strip. Popular hangout spots on the boulevard are Mezza House, The Courtyard at Al-Manzil hotel, Vida Hotel, Calabar and Reem Al Bawadi.
