HARIPUR: Non-governmental organisations working in Haripur district have formed NGO Coordination Council. The representatives of civil society organisations from the district met Social Welfare District Officer Adil Khan on Tuesday. Speaking to participants, Adil said the purpose of the council was to establish coordination between the NGO sector and the government since the lack of a working relationship between the two created problems for everyone in the past. Adil added all functional NGOs will have to make efforts to ensure this initiative was a success and assured the government will support them. He said the council will also serve as a resource centre for the collection and dissemination of all required information about NGOs. On the occasion, Ejaz Ajmal was elected as coordination council president, Qaiser Warsi vice-president, Nuzhat Bibi finance secretary and Ejaz Ahmad Khan as joint secretary.
