In broad daylight: Gang loots mobile phone franchise

Robbers had entered franchise at around 1:37pm and escaped within five minutes after completing their swift operation

A gang of robbers looted a mobile phone franchise located in the red zone of the metropolis on Saturday afternoon.


The franchise where the incident took place is located near the Sindh Chief Minister House. The police have obtained closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) footage and started investigations.

The robbers had entered the franchise at around 1:37pm and escaped within five minutes after completing their swift operation. In the CCTV footage of the incident, it can be seen that four robbers barged into the mobile franchise, robbed the customers and staff and easily escaped.

The victims blamed the law enforcement agencies, saying that the police failed to arrive on time despite the fact that the nearest police station is located about 500 metres away from the crime scene.

Civil Line SHO Waqar Tanoli said that the robbers managed to loot Rs13,000 from a cash counter and Rs25,000 from an employee, namely Farhan, and a mobile phone. He said that a case has been registered while further investigation was under way.
