PESHAWAR:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Central Finance Committee has decided to freeze all provincial bank accounts of the party in order to deter misappropriation of funds allotted to the party during the intra-party elections.

This was decided in a meeting held at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf secretariat in the city on Friday.

Chairing the meeting, Central Finance Secretary Sardar Azhar Tariq said according to the directives issued by the PTI chief Imran Khan, Central Finance Committee members will visit the PTI offices in Lahore and Karachi soon, and will take over all provincial accounts to examine them closely.

According to party sources, PTI intra-party elections are scheduled to take place in April this year. However, this has not been officially confirmed.

Most officials are of the opinion that the date of elections will be finalised soon.

Central Finance Officer Siraj Ahmed Khan, former provincial organiser Fazal Muhammad Khan, former finance secretary Colonel (retd) Inamullah Khan and Central Finance Committee members Muhammad Arshad and Asif Ahmed were also present at the meeting.
