Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC) signed a memorandum with Lead Pakistan as part of the One Billion Coalition for Resilience here on Tuesday, according to a press release.

It is an initiative of International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), it said.

PRC Secretary General Dr Rizwan Naseer said that the agreement will allow the Red Crescent to utilise the technical expertise of Lead in designing and implementing disaster preparedness activities.

He also said that PRC’s goal was to engage at least one person from every household throughout the country in active steps towards their resilience.

He further expressed his hope that it will bring diverse individuals and organisations together to form new partnerships to engage with local communities in innovative ways.
