To the gallows: Man sentenced to death for murder
The court examined the evidence and statements of witnesses before announcing its verdict
PESHAWAR:
A trial court handed down a death sentence to a man on Monday for committing murder over a petty issue. The court also imposed a fine of Rs0.3 million on the convict. The sentence was awarded by additional sessions judge Riffat Amir after the prosecution and defence lawyers completed their arguments. The court examined the evidence and statements of witnesses before announcing its verdict. Syed Umar was convicted for murdering Saeed Rahman on October 8, 2012, after they clashed over a petty issue in Gurr market of Hashtnagri.
