PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said no new road schemes will be considered until ongoing projects are completed in the province. This is with exception of Chitral where smaller roads will be improved in the current financial year as local roads of all major cities are being rehabilitated under an urban uplift programme. He said this while addressing a delegation representing Chitral on Sunday. The delegation was led by MPA Fauzia Bibi. Khattak added the people of calamity-prone areas of Chitral will be given residential plots in a housing colony that will be set up at a safer place. The chief minister assured that roads in Chitral and other earthquake and flood-hit areas will be rehabilitated at any cost and on a priority basis. On the occasion the chief minister approved communication schemes of Rs60 billion for the entire province. He also sought a progress report on the establishment of a university in Chitral, roads in the district, housing schemes, an irrigation water channel and a hostel for working women.
