LBA elections: Friend’s Group wins president seat

There were 12 candidates in the field for two seats of secretaries



RAWALPINDI/ LAHORE/ KARACHI/ LAKKI MARWAT/ JAMRUD: Arshad Jahangir Jhoja of Friend’s Group (led by Asma Jahangir) has been elected Lahore Bar Association (LBA) president for 2016-17. He secured 3,163 votes beating Chaudhry Tanveer Akhtar of Professional Group (led by Hamid Khan) who bagged 2,163 votes. Shahid Maqsood Bhullah has been elected senior vice president with 1,979 votes. Rana Saeed Anwer secured 1,681 votes to become vice president. Nine candidates were in the run for two vice president seats. Shehzad Khan Kakar has been elected vice president from Model Town courts. He secured 2,674 votes. Naeem Chauhan and Shahid Nawab Cheema have been elected secretaries bagging 1,338 and 1,113 votes respectively. There were 12 candidates in the field for two seats of secretaries.
