KHAR: A parade was held in Khar, Bajaur Agency for 422 Frontier Corps Bajaur Scouts recruits who passed their basic training. At Thursday’s event, North Sector Commander Brigadier Ziaul Islam lauded the efforts of the FC, which plays a vital role in the war on terror and maintains peace in the tribal areas.

“The armed forces, FC and other law-enforcement agencies have sacrificed a lot in order to eliminate terrorism from our soil,” he said. The country is going through a critical stage in its history and many strategic changes are taking place in the region, Islam added.

While talking to the recruits at the parade, Islam said, “It is now your responsibility to realise the challenges faced by the armed forces in changing the regional scenario.” He said enemies of the state were targeting the armed forces, schools and mosques to disrupt national unity.

“You should be aware of the fact that by targeting these institutions, the nation’s enemies want to defame Pakistan,” Islam added. “You have completed an important training.”

Later at the ceremony, he saw the recruits’ march and also distributed medals among them based on their performance.

Bajaur Scouts Commandant Colonel Nair, officials of the political administration, and large numbers of Utman Khel and Tharkani tribal elders were also present at the parade.
