K-P government approved its first-ever provincial population policy, stated a handout.

According to the document issued on Tuesday, the policy aims to treat population control as an essential development framework and outline the benefits of family planning and birth spacing.

“Healthy timing and spacing of pregnancy (HTSP) was made part of the policy which outlines care for mothers and their children,” read the document.

According to the handout, the policy has been fully endorsed by scholars and leaders from all sects.

“Family planning is a crucial component of sustainable development and linked to poverty reduction strategies,” read the document. “The policy placed great value on the rights of women. It ensures all women and men, who require services, receive them with ease and according to their choice and needs.” The policy ensures even the most impoverished people are reached.
