Seven suspected terrorists arrested in Bannu

All seven terrorists have been shifted to an unidentified location for further interrogations

PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Special Police Unit arrested on Monday at least seven terrorists in two separate raids in Bannu.

“The first raid was carried out in jurisdiction of Meeryan Police station at Bannu which lead to the arrest of an alleged terrorist,” the Special Police Unit said in a statetement.

Further, the police said they arrested an alleged terrorist namely Sadaqat Ullah and seized three kilogrammes of explosives from his posession. Sadaqat Ullah belongs to Badhabher Peshawar and is associated with a banned militant group.

Similarly, in Perokhel area six terrorists were arrested from an under construction house. They were identified as Abid, Shams Ur Rahman, Safdar Iqbal, Mansoor, Anwar Kamal and Qudrat Ullah. The alleged terrorists belong to Bannu and adjacent tribal regions. Police further recovered two kilogrammes of explosive materials, one Kalashnikov, detonators and two pistols.

All seven terrorists have been shifted to an unidentified location for further interrogations.

Meanwhile, during a search operation Mardan police arrested 60 suspects at midnight between Sunday and Monday. Forty of those arrested were later on freed after a detailed investigation whereas the remaining 20 will undergo further interrogation process.
