LAHORE: A division bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday rejected a bail application by Ghulam Yasin, a resident of Faisalabad, accused of killing his daughter in the name of honour. The judge observed that the rising frequency of murders in the name of honor was highly condemnable. The bench observed that bail for an offence against society and the state could not be granted on account of a settlement. It said that after amendment to the law, bail could only be granted under special conditions and with the consent of the trial court. The trial court had already rejected the bail plea by Ghulam Yasin.
