Shots fired: Uncle kills nephew over suspicion in DI Khan

A man shot his nephew over suspicions about him having an affair with his wife. The incident occurred in Kari Khaisur area of DI Khan on Thursday night.


A police official told The Express Tribune Aslam opened fire on Muhammad Javed. He was critically wounded in the incident and succumbed to his injuries on the way to District Headquarters and Teaching Hospital DI Khan.


“Javed was going home from Madni Town, which is situated near his village, when he was shot by his uncle on the way,” the police official added.


Kari Khaisur police station registered an first investigation report (FIR) on a complaint filed by the deceased’s father.


Javed, who was 35-years-old, was a civil servant and worked in the irrigation department.


According to the police official, Aslam believed the deceased was having an affair with his wife.  “Aslam had divorced his wife earlier over the same suspicion,” he added.


The matter is being investigated by the police. Aslam was not arrested until the filing of this report.
