PROVIDENCE:

West Indies  thrashed Ireland by 70 runs in the second match of the T-20 world cup on Friday.

The hosts scored a total of 138 runs, and managed to bowl out Ireland for just 68 runs in seventeen overs. All-rounder Darren Sammy took three wickets for eight runs to add to his top score of 30 during the match.

Ireland saw 17-year-old off-spinner George Dockrell take three wickets for 16. But their top order had no answer to fast bowler Ravi Rampaul, who sparked Ireland's collapse with three for 17.
