Road accident: Police constable killed

ISLAMABAD: A police constable was killed on Wednesday in a road accident on Murree Road, near Waris Khan police station. The deceased was identified as Naveed Ahmed, 21. He was a resident of Sadiqabad and was posted at Waris Khan police station. Police sources said Ahmed was standing at a bus stop when a speeding motorcyclist hit him. The constable died on the spot. The motorcyclist also sustained injuries and went unconscious. The sources further told that Rescue 1122 shifted the body and the injured to Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH). The injured was identified as Muhammad Nafees Tahir, a resident of Muhammadi Colony, Sadiqabad. The doctor said his condition was serious. A case was registered against the motorcyclist while further investigations were underway.
