LAHORE:

A Lahore High Court division bench on Tuesday sought complete flight record while hearing the bail application of a private airline pilot arrested on charges of crash-landing under the influence of liquor.

Asmat Mahmood’s lawyer said that a technical fault had developed in the landing gear, which caused the crash-landing. “The pilot had informed the control tower about the fault,” he said.

He stated that Mahmood had been on judicial remand and should be granted bail.

Deputy Prosecutor General Khurram Khan sought postponement of the hearing till the investigation report was received.

The bench directed the prosecution to produce flight data and the safety investigation report by January 13.
