FAISALABAD/ SARGODHA/ SHEIKHUPURA: Five people died in road accidents in Faisalabad, Sargodha and Sheikhupura on Monday.

In Faisalabad, Rescue-1122 officials said Abid Masih, 17, a resident of Chak 204-RB, was travelling on a motorcycle when a speeding car rammed into him near the village. Rescue-1122 officials said Abid Masih was badly injured and succumbed to his wounds before he could be taken to a hospital.

In Sargodha, Assistant Sub-Inspector Shabbir Klaira, who was deputed at Dherkhanawala police station, was on his way to Sahiwal on a motorcycle when a speeding rickshaw rammed into his vehicle near Nehang Adda on Jhang Road. Rescue-1122 officials said ASI Klaira died on the spot and Muhammad Khan, the rickshaw driver, was injured. He was taken to a hospital where doctors treating him later said his condition was stable.

In another accident in Sargodha, a man on a motorcycle died in a hit-and-run in a Saddar police precinct. Rescue-1122 officials said Suleman was driving a motorcycle when a speeding car rammed into his vehicle. He was taken to the DHQ hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police said they had registered cases against the drivers involved.

In Sheikhupura, two brothers died and another was seriously injured in a road accident 10km away from Sheikhupura city on Monday. Police said the three brothers were travelling on a motorcycle when a trailer rammed into them near Joyianwala Mor. Police said that Naveed and Younis died on the spot and their brother Javed was seriously injured. He was taken to the DHQ hospital where doctors treating him later said his condition was stable.

In another accident in Sheikhupura, 15 people travelling in a coaster van were injured in a collision with a truck near Qila Sattar Shah. Police said they had been taken to the DHQ hospital for treatement.
