The residents of Rahim Yar Khan have given their mandate to Pakistan Peoples Party and the district chairman will be a PPP member, Makhdoon Syed Ahmad Mehmood, PPP south Punjab president, said in a meeting with winning candidates on Sunday. The opposition must accept defeat and respect people’s mandate, he said. “Opposition for sake of opposing must be avoided.” Mehmood met PPP’s Rao Muhammad Muslim Raza from Baagh-o-Bahar union council and Raees Kaleem Chachar. “We have always done our best to raise the living standards of people,” he said. Each PPP government has ushered in a new chapter in the country’s history and has brought development and prosperity to Rahim Yar Khan, Mehmood said. “We have served the people to the best of our abilities.” Once local government bodies are established, the PPP representatives of Rahim Yar Khan will serve the people at their doorstep, he said.
