From xx to xy: Girl claims natural sex change

TIMERGARA: A 17-year-old girl of Karkabanjh area of Upper Dir says her sex changed overnight without any operation. Sania, who changed her name to Sanaullah, told the media at District Headquarters Hospital Timergara that she felt pain in her body and when it increased at night, she noticed her sex had also changed. The family of Sanaullah, is happy with her transformation, however Medical Specialist Dr Wahab Said denied it, saying examination and ultrasound reveal she still has female reproductive organs in her body. The locals were surprised to hear the news of her change in sex and gathered outside her house to meet her. No medical report has confirmed her altered sex, however, androgen insensitivity syndrome does manifest in a similar manner.
