Special operations: Pakistan, Bahrain hold joint naval drill

Shaheen al Jazeera series of special forces exercises have been regularly conducted since 1997

Pakistan Navy and Royal Bahrain Navy concluded their bilateral exercise ‘Shaheen al Jazeera’ on Saturday.


According to a press release of Pakistan Navy, the final event of the exercise was witnessed by commanders of the Special Operation Forces of the Royal Bahrain Navy and Pakistan Navy. Both commanders appreciated the professional skills displayed by the participating teams.


They were equally confident that the exercise Shaheen al Jazeera will prove beneficial in enhancing inter-operability between the two navies and their special operations forces. The exercise culminated with the display of coordinated special forces operations at sea which included boarding procedures through surface and air platforms.


Shaheen al Jazeera series of special forces exercises have been regularly conducted since 1997 between PN SSG(N) and Bahrain Navy Special Forces at Karachi and Manama on alternate years.
