Achievements: M B Naqvi’s book launched

KARACHI: Journalists, politicians and human rights activists paid tribute to Mohammad Baqir Naqvi (MB Naqvi), a senior journalist, columnist and author, on Sunday at the launch ceremony of his book Pakistan at Knife’s Edge. The ceremony was organised by the Pakistan Peace Coalition at the auditorium of the Pakistan Institute of International Affairs.

Naqvi, an outstanding journalist and a dedicated human rights and peace activist, was known for his untiring advocacy for social justice, secular human values and peace. He wrote for numerous newspapers and journals in Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, and the UK.

In his book, the late Naqvi focuses on militarisation in Pakistan and its impact on the economy, the war against terror, regional disparities, the influence of America on Pakistan’s policies and the lawyers’ movement. Besides these issues, he has suggested ways for the resolution of Pakistan’s problems. A human rights activist and a fervor supporter of liberal democracy, Naqvi presents in this book a blueprint of the future for this country.
