PM chairs high-level meeting to review law, order situation in Lahore

LAHORE: A high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is underway in Lahore during which the law and order situation of the province will come under review, Radio Pakistan reported.

During the meeting, the premier will be briefed by Punjab Home Secretary and Inspector General of Police, pertaining to the security situation in the province.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar along with senior provincial officials of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) are also in attendance of the meeting.

Earlier on Friday, PM Nawaz chaired a high-level meeting to discuss the internal security and Afghan situation in Islamabad.

PM, army chief to co-chair law and order meeting today

Senior civil and military officials, including Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and Director General Inter-Services Intelligence Lieutenant Gen Rizwan Akhtar, are attending the meeting along with Adviser to the PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and several others.
