PESHAWAR: Islamia College University (ICU) Vice Chancellor Ajmal Khan has pressed the academic and non-academic staff of the university to submit proposals on how to utilise Rs1 billion pledged by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He was addressing teachers, staff, and administration and security officials at the varsity on Friday.

“Faculty members, officials from administrative and financial cadres of the university must prioritise what is beneficial for the students [when deciding how to allocate funds],” Ajmal said. “They should keep the benefit of students in mind while submitting proposals to uplift ICU academically.”

According to Ajmal, steps will be implemented on a priority-basis to work on ideas for development projects put forward by the faculty and staff members.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sareer Badshah, the registrar of the university, also pledged support to process these suggestions and proposals as soon as possible.

The centenary celebrations began on December 11 and concluded on December 13. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan were invited on the occasion. During the ceremony, Nawaz pledged Rs1 billion to the institute to strengthen the college’s output in all capacities.

A Peshawary | 8 years ago | Reply VC seems to be pretty sure that PM will keep his promise! The question is will he and when? May be after his retirement. The fulfillment of promise by PML(N) political leaders made to provinces as compare to Punjab is totally different. A Peshawary
