TIMERGARA: Re-elections will be held on Tormang-1 union council in Timergara for local government representatives on January 23, 2016.

An insider familiar with the matter told The Express Tribune, the decision has been taken after tehsil councillor seat fell vacant recently.

“Candidates of various political parties – including Awami National Party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Jamaat-e-Islami – will contest polls in the constituency,” he added. According to the insider, ANP candidate Aftab Khan and PML-N contestant Malik Khizar Hayat are vying for the post.

“Aftab Khan has promised locals to address their problems if he wins the election,” he added.

On the other hand, PML-N has organised a workers convention under the supervision of former vice president Malik Jehanzeb. The convention was attended by a large number of party representatives and workers.

Addressing the convention, Malik Jehanzeb and others said PML-N will win the polls in the tehsil.

They added the prime minister’s development budget of Rs50 billion for Dir will be utilised soon. PML-N leaders also vowed to provide access to Sui gas after development projects are initiated in
the district.
