The army chief's statement came during a Corps Commanders Conference held at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
The military's top brass paid rich tributes to Army Public School victims and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families of the Taliban attack on the army-run school in Peshawar on December 16 last year.
APS massacre survivors still haunted one year on
Hailing the sacrifices paid by the APS victims, the army chief said, “We will continue to pursue efforts to consolidate our gains to make them sustainable, which will be a befitting tribute to all the Shuhada and wounded."
More than 150 lives were lost in the Peshawar school massacre of December 16, 2014, the deadliest extremist attack in Pakistan’s history.
Remembrance: APS attack victims paid homage
The meeting was given comprehensive briefings on internal and external security situation of the country, according to the military's media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR). "While deliberating the emerging geo strategic environment and its relevance to security of Pakistan, the participants also reviewed the progress of Zarb-e-Azb," ISPR added.
