Police claimed to have arrested five hard-core criminals wanted in different heinous crimes. Mansehra DPO Asan Saifullah told journalists the police arrested the criminals while making heightened security arrangements around schools and colleges to ward off terrorist activities ahead of December 16.


The raid was carried out in different areas. Those arrested were later identified as Ziaur Rehman, Alam Sher, Jameel, Asif and Babar, residents of Kohistan. Weapons, money and mobile phones were confiscated from their possession. The accused were wanted in 16 cases of robberies by Hazara police and in 25 cases of heinous crimes to the city police.

The DPO said the police also arrested Amjad, Fazal Raheem, Niaz Ali, Waqar Hussain and Jamshed, and seized 500 bottles of liquor from their possession. On the other hand, Mazhar, an alleged car lifter was also picked up from Data village; a stolen car was confiscated from him.
