Earthquake survivors: PRC provides relief to over 300 families in Ghizer Valley
Distributed tents, tarps, stoves among other necessary items

As part of relief efforts, the Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC) has provided aid to over 300 families of Ghizer Valley which were affected by the October 26 earthquake.
A press release issued on Wednesday by PRC headquarters in Gilgit read, “At least 298 homeless families of Phandar Valley have been provided shelter, while 50 more families of Gupis and Yasin valleys have been provided tents, blankets, tarpaulin sheets, stoves, kitchen set, water cans and other things of domestic use.” It added 70 partially affected families in Darel Valley have also been provided winterised tents as part of relief operation.

Speaking to earthquake victims in Gupis, Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly Member Fida Khan said, “The PRC has played an extraordinary role in providing relief to quake victims and proved that it is a real humanitarian organisation.”
He added, “The PRC has worked for the vulnerable communities of Ghizer beyond their expectations.”
PRC Provincial Secretary Noorul Ain said, “Pakistan Red Crescent has been proactively working in quake-hit Phandar and Darel and will continue to support affected families until they are rehabilitated.”
