After Dr Asim Hussain opened up before the administrative judge of the anti-terrorism courts, a lawyer representing the Rangers termed his statement as one based on lies. “He was neither tortured nor was he falsely implicated,” said special public prosecutor Mushaq Jahangiri, as he spoke to the media outside the court on Monday. He maintained that they possess all evidence against the accused. Dr Asim is trying to mislead the court, he claimed, adding that even the provincial government was favouring the suspect. He claimed that the investigating officer of the case was changed by Sindh IG Ghulam Haider Jamali in an attempt to influence the probe. The IG was asked by Dr Asim’s daughter to change the IO, he maintained.
