Education prioritised : Rs580m development budget announced for Mardan

Some of the amount will also be spent on imparting vocational training to students in government high schools

MARDAN:


A development budget of nearly Rs580 million for Mardan was presented by district nazim Himayatullah Mayar on Monday. 


“All schemes in the budget were added after consultation with members of the opposition and the government,”said Mayar.

“The education sector has been prioritised in this budget,” said the district nazim. He added Rs115.9 million has been allocated for education.

Some of the amount will also be spent on imparting vocational training to students in government high schools.

“Teachers will also be appointed to fill the vacant posts,” said Mayar. “The top ten students of matriculation, FA and FSc will be given Rs0.1 million each for their success in examinations.” The rest of the fund has been divided on development projects, health and water schemes, recreational activities and social welfare.
