According to Express News, Syed Mohsin Ali, Moazzam Ali Khan and Khalid Shamim will again be produced in an anti-terrorism court on Monday, wherein a remand, a maximum of up to 28 days, would be sought for their interrogation.
Earlier on Sunday, the accused were produced in the court of a judicial magistrate where they were identified and handed over to the FIA.
FIA registers case against MQM chief for involvement in Dr Imran Farooq's murder
According to the FIA, a new joint investigation team (JIT) could be constituted to interrogate the three accused.
The investigation will be furthered by investigating the involvement of four more people in the murder, including MQM supremo Altaf Hussain, added the agency.
On Saturday, the counter-terrorism wing of the law enforcement agency registered a case against the MQM chief and four others under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act.

Party spokesperson Aminul Haque had said “the timing of the registration of the case is surprising, it seems like a mala fide intention."
Dr Farooq was stabbed and bludgeoned to death near his apartment in Green Lane, Edgware, in September 2010.
