NORTH WAZIRISTAN:

Four people were killed in a US drone strike in North Waziristan on Friday.

An unmanned US drone targeted a house and vehicle and fired four missiles killing four people. Authorities say that casualties may rise.

Drone strikes by the US in Pakistan’s tribal areas have increased in the recent past with reports that the US is seeking to expand its covert drone campaign which has drawn much criticism from the public.

The Pakistani government has publicly condemned drone attacks stating that they stoke anti-American sentiment, but cables released by WikiLeaks recently revealed that Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani had allowed drone strikes, saying they would protest the attacks in the National Assembly and then ignore them.
