At least three passengers were confirmed dead when a van plunged into Chitral River Wednesday near the airport.
About 11 passengers were estimated to have been travelling from Garam Chashma to Chitral city when the vehicle overturned and landed in the river. Witnesses said the driver lost control due to broken condition of the road. A local managed to rescue one survivor, Binat Bibi. Three bodies, including that of a minor girl, were fished out after Chitral Scouts reached the site. Search for at least seven passengers was under way till the filing of this report.
