KARACHI: The Sindh government removed Sharjeel Inam Memon from all ministries. According to a notification issued by the services, general administration and coordination department, the decision was taken on the recommendation of the chief minister. Memon, who had been a powerful minister in the Sindh cabinet, left the country following raids conducted by Rangers and FIA in government offices. "There are serious allegations of corruption, nepotism and misuse of authority against him," said official sources. Memon held many department meetings in Dubai. "PPP leaders had already asked him to resign but he has refused to return to Pakistan," said senior PPP leader Khursheed Shah, adding that the party as well as the Sindh government faced criticism because he was running the ministry from abroad. Despite many attempts, Memon could not be reached for comments.
