Left-arm fast-bowler Muhammad Amir is on a roll in the on-going Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). In Wednesday’s match for the Chittagong Vikings, Amir managed to take out Pakistan T20 captain Shahid Afridi.

Afridi came on for the Sylhet Superstars when they were four wicket down for a score of 22. The right-hand batsman then mustered 62 runs off 41 balls to guide his team to a decent total of 139 runs. He hit four sixes and five boundaries in the process.

Bangladesh Premier League: Amir’s first milestone towards possible Pakistan return

Meanwhile, Amir, who has been bowling the in the start and at the death for Vikings throughout the tournament was called on for the 18th over.

Riders vs Vikings: Misbah, Amir heroics steal the show

The quickie didn’t pay any heed to the blistering all-rounder and bowled him out on the very first ball of the over. A delivery which went away from Afridi’s bat and dislodged the bails.

Amir ran forward in excitement while Afridi, who was hitting nearly every bowler out of the ground, walked away with just a disappointed Oh!

On his way back, Afridi did use his hand to emulate what Amir had done. Swung the ball away from him.

Amir previously had yorked Pakistan Test captain Misbahul Haq as well in the BPL.

Amir should not be brought back for national duty, Inzamam tells PCB

With the Pakistan cricket fraternity divided on whether to give Amir a national team recall, the left-armer has created a strong case in his favour with his performance in the BPL – his first tournament outside of Pakistan after serving the five-year spot-fixing ban.

Aamir deserves respect. Now he is also performing well from his behavior and ball. So deserves for a fair chance.Recommend

That was a great delivery. It seems that he hasn’t lost pace nor the ability to take wicket. It will be interesting to see if he is selected for the national team in the near future.

I really think Pakistan needs Muhammad Amir more than ever for the coming W T20. His first class performance followed by some good bowling at BPL and specially this Yorker to get rid of Misbah is enough to make a case for Pakistani team with average bowlers. I wish PCB was clean itself to do that. Then the likes of Ramiz Raja, Muhammad hafeez and all those who harass this poor fellow with their statements…I seriously hope he makes a come back and gives a shut up call to all those who oppose him. He knows he has done something wrong, came out with an apology, had his sentence and throughout ban complied with ICC…What else people want him to do?Recommend

Why Amir is different from Salman and Asif.

Amir was 17 years old, a juvenille with an underpriviliged background and education.
Amir was pressured by his legally adult-age captain.
Unlike his elders, Amir immediately accepted responsibility.
Even though he engaged in spot fixing he still played his heart out in the match.
Unlike the others, he has shown real remorse.

In a country where almost everyone skips tax, gives or takes bribe — we should not cast stones at an under-aged young man who has served his time.Recommend

You don’t give a bank cashier a second chance if he is caught steeling, why should this case be different when the country’s honor is at stake? No matter how well this fellow performs he doesn’t deserve a place in the team, as this will deny other deserving players to get in the team.Recommend

At first PCB fought for M Amir & got his punishment relaxed. Now when he has completed his sentence he is being kept away… It looks clear that PCB is completely vision less.
A STAR will remain a STAR, if PCB does not take advantage of M Amir, others certainly will.
Then where will M Hafeez & Ramiz Raja goRecommend

because he did not fix the match.
his actions had no effect on the outcome of the match.

there is a huge difference between spot fixing and match fixing.Recommend

Aamir should be allowed to play for Pakistan, and people who are talking rubbish about Aamir should shut up and mind their own bussiness,i think they are scared of his capabilities. We should be proud that he has done his punishment and ready to play and prosper for Pakistan and hopefully win the world cup.So please keep quiet and enjoy the cricket.Recommend
