An additional district and sessions judge on Saturday sought comments from the Factory Area SHO on a petition seeking registration of a case against a man for kidnapping and forcibly marrying the petitioner’s daughter. Muhammad Pervez Butt submitted that on July 12 he had lodged an FIR regarding the kidnapping of her daughter. He said police had later recovered her from one Usman’s custody. He said Usman had forced her into a nikah with him although she was already married to another man.
He requested the court to direct the SHO to register a case against Usman under Sections 376 (rape), 495 and 494 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
