The local apex committee met on Thursday to discuss implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP), law and order situation and development schemes in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

The meeting was presided by AJK Prime Minister of Chaudhry Abdul Majeed. General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 12th Division Major-General Muhammad Kaleem Asif and AJK cabinet members were also present in the meeting.

The premier said the main entry and exit points linking the region with rest of the country have been put under tight security. “Better coordination between all security agencies and police has further been enhanced to ensure the implementation of the NAP in the region,” he added.

All illegal local cable television channels were closed, he added. In the meeting, the open stand of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif in the US on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute was also highly appreciated.
