Javed Sheikh and Humayun Saeed honoured in London

The actors received trophies at the Pakistan Achievement Awards UK and Europe for their contribution to cinema

Superstars Javed Sheikh and Humayun Saeed were honoured by UK's Pakistani community in a star-studded ceremony held in London on Saturday.

Javed Sheikh, who received rave reviews for his performances in Na Maloom Afraad and Jawani Phir Nahi Ani (JPNA), received the Star of Pakistan trophy at the Pakistan Achievement Awards UK and Europe (PAA).

While talking to The Express Tribune over the phone after the ceremony, Javed sb said he was overwhelmed with the love he received from fans in London.

"I am proud to be able to represent Pakistan in a positive light. The feedback to my performance in JPNA is truly heartening," he said.

Humaira Arshad also received an award in recognition of her services to Pakistan’s music industry.

PAA was launched in 2009 by UK Times London in a bid to "identify and recognise the contribution that Pakistanis are making to mainstream British life", according to PAA website.

In the past, boxer Amir Khan, singer Annie and actress Veena Malik have also been honoured by PAA.
