Army chief discusses regional security issues with Turkish foreign minister

General Raheel Sharif also speaks on Pakistan's fight against terrorism at War Academy in Turkey

In his meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Ferdiun Sinirlioglu, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif discussed on Wednesday issues of mutual interest and regional security.



According to the ISPR, General Raheel, who is on a three-day official visit to Turkey, also visited the War Academy.

"[He] exchanged views with participants on Pakistan's successful experience of fighting terrorism," said the military's media wing.



Earlier on October 13, the army chief met Turkish President Recip Tayyeb Erdogan, as well as the country's prime minister.

General Raheel's visit to Turkey comes in the aftermath of an attack on a peace rally in Ankara, which killed at least 86 people.
