Viral: First dengue case reported in Batkhela

19-year-old Attaullah was rushed to the hospital with high fever and subsequently tested positive for the virus

BATKHELA: A wave of panic spread through Batkhela tehsil, Malakand as the first case of dengue fever surfaced from the region on Friday. An official from Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Malakand told The Express Tribune 19-year-old Attaullah was rushed to the hospital with high fever and subsequently tested positive for the virus. THQ Medical Superintendent Dr Iftikhar confirmed the report. “The hospital administration has dedicated a special ward in the hospital where medical facilities are being provided to dengue patients,” he said. Residents have pressed the government to make all the necessary arrangements to fumigate the region.
