Capital Crime: Murder convict hanged

The body was later handed over to the family for burial

FAISALABAD: A man convicted of murder was executed at the Central Jail in Faisalabad on Wednesday. A Prisons Department spokesperson said Muhammad Ashfaq, son of Ali Muhammad, was convicted of killing Waheed Anwar in 1999 over a family feud. His sentence was upheld by the Supreme Court. A plea against the sentence was turned down by the president. The body was later handed over to the family for burial.
