National T20: Nasir, Amir shine as Rawalpindi Rams beat Bahwalpur

ISLAMABAD: Nasir Jamshed's unbeaten 62 helped Rawalpindi Rams seal a victory over Bahawalpur Region by 7 wickets in the National Twenty20 Tournament played at Pindi Stadium, Rawalpindi.  

Jamshed smashed eight fours and a six on just 36 balls and was also declared Player of the Match. Naveed Malik assisted Jamshed by scoring 51 runs on 43 balls including four boundaries and four sixes.

It seemed hard for the Bahawalpur bowlers to bag wickets as Kamran Hussain, Zahir Siddiqi and Faisal Mubashir were able to take only one wicket each for 14, 26 and 10 runs respectively.

The toss was won by Bahawalpur after which they elected to bat first to make a total of 125 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.

Aamer Ijaz (33), Shahan Akram (15), Zahir Siddiqi (15 not out), Mohammad Yasir (12) and Waqas Khan (11) were the main scorers for Bahwalpur.

Rawalpindi's Muhammad Amir stunned Bahawalpur batsmen with his superb bowling grabbing 3 wickets for 23 runs in 4 overs. Hammad Azam also attained 2 wickets for 22 runs in 4 overs.

In the matches played earlier on Tuesday, Hyderabad, Sailkot, Karachi Blues and Lahore Whites earned victories.
