PESHAWAR:

Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association’s K-P chapter still stands firm over its stance against the recommendations tabled by the government in the K-P Universities (Amendment) Act 2015.

Following a meeting of faculty members from across the province’s public sector universities at the University of Peshawar, the participants threatened to padlock varsities if the government does not address their demands. With FAPUASA President Dr Fazal Nasir in chair, the attendees condemned the delay tactics employed by the government in handling the affair.

Talking on the occasion, Nasir said they were assured that their recommendations will be incorporated in the legislation but so far little has been done.

The union president pressed the government to address their grievance or else prepare for a full-scale protest that will bring all universities in the province to a grinding halt.
