BANNU: A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf district councillor in Bannu received a threatening letter from a banned militant outfit. Speaking to The Express Tribune on Friday, Maroofun Nisa, who was elected on a reserved seat from Ghoriwala union council, said she received the letter on Thursday night. “The letter was written in Pashto and was sent by a militant organisation,” she said. “The group has threatened me not to attend the oath-taking ceremony on August 29 (today) otherwise my family will have to make preparations for my funeral. They even sent a Rs1,000 note with the letter for my family to buy a shroud.” PTI chief Imran Khan has asked Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to provide security to the councillor.
