PESHAWAR:

The Pak-Afghan Highway would play a key role in bolstering ties between the countries along with opening new trade routes to the Central Asian and European countries, President Mamnoon Hussain said on Thursday.

Inaugurating the Pak Afghan Highway at Shagai Fort, the President stressed that the route will help the two countries enter a new era of progress and prosperity.

“The newly constructed highway could help cement people-to-people contact between the two countries,” he said, adding that having cordial relations could help the two countries in resolving economic and administrative problems. The president reiterated that the armed forces had played a key role in eliminating terror and stabilizing the country in general and tribal areas in particular.
