Curtain Rises: Play examines political situation

The play is being performed in collaboration with the Lahore Arts Council

LAHORE: Ajoka’s new play, Kaun Bane Ga Badshah, opened on Wednesday night at Alhamra on The Mall. The play is being performed in collaboration with the Lahore Arts Council. Directed by Shahid Mehmood Nadeem, it is about a game show, hosted by a mysterious Big Boss, who is assisted by a well-mannered Nizam. The play is a political satire. It raises questions about the state of affairs in the country. It aims to depict the problems faced by the masses and comment on the nature and functioning of democracy in the country. The cast includes Nayab Faiza, Usman Raj, Omar Dar, Ahsan Murad, Sohail Tariq, Qaiser Ali, Yaqub Masih, Aamir Sahotra and Shehzad Sadiq. The play will continue till August 27.
